And Then . . .

Today had the good fortune to lunch with completely different crew from another floor. As the twosome I ate with are pleasant in the office it was no surprise to find that they are also lovely lunch companions.

We had Thai at Nit Noi Cafe. Love the Nit Noi by my house with its multiple menus. My fav is the "off menu" menu. Off menu is where one finds Thai dumplings my entree of choice. Cafe menu is rather abbreviated. They had dumplings but nothing called Thai dumplings. And indeed it was not the same dumpling. The dough was not as thin and supple as the Thai version but also not egregiously thick and doughy. Ginger dipping sauce was flavorful. Iced tea was awful. I think I was just drinking brown water.

Upon return to office I stumbled upon some mini cupcakes up for grabs. They were the fake Hostess cupcake variety and of course I could not resist. It was ok. The small version better than big version but I still don't care for the Crave choc cupcake. Too much of a bittersweet dark choc and not sweet enough.
Dumplings a 3.5 and recommended. Cupcake a 2.5 and for a chocolate cupcake I don't think I can recommend. Don't hate.
