as in, it's 4:15 now and I just finished eating it maybe 10 minutes ago. I started it around 3 and then remembered I had to do something by COB today. Stopped eating, did other thing, finished, and here we are.
So today was a Lean Cuisine! yes, you read that right. I actually ate a Lean Cuisine again. Oh how I have missed you LC! Today's selection was the Lemongress Chicken from the "spa collection". By the way that is kind of a stupid name. I get how you want to categorize all your foods but I don't know, calling it spa food doesn't work for me. I have no suggestions for you however so I prob. should just not say anything at all.
Ok, back to task at hand. This is one of my favorite meals. Nice subtle lemongrass ginger sauce with maybe a hint of peanut. Flavor levels are all just right. I like the brown rice and the veggies. Best of all this one is not overloaded with pesky red pepper for color.
Let's take a look at our entree of the day:
Besides the fact that its sideways (again!), notice anything?
Oh come on! I am disappointed in you people. The chicken. it has GIANT chunks of chicken! Let's take a closer look:
You are all familiar with my obsession over the chicken in the entrees right? To recap- there are always 5 chunks of chicken in every Lean Cuisine meal and always generally uniform in shape and size. This entree then is in fact, groundbreaking. Not only are the chunks gigantic, there are MORE THAN 5. I count 7 and when you cut up the chicken into bite size pieces you are just adrift in chicken. This was actually a fairly substantial meal. Clearly the Lean Cuisine chicken cutting machine is broken. Or LC is reading this blog. ha! Not. Obviously the machine is broken! And a fine lunch was had by all (meaning me).
I'm trying to renew my attempts to eat better and lose weight, particularly since I can't run at the moment. Why? Oh, did I not mention it? I have a stress fracture in my upper tibia and can't run. 3 more weeks to go on the not running. It is horrible. I pretty much have to start training all over again when I'm cleared and will have a whopping 8 weeks to get ready for my half marathon. Boooo. That's the story I'm going with at least.
Ok- Meal gets a 5 (I really like this one) and a recommended, especially if you get one from the broken chicken cutter.
Yum!
I still owe a post on the trip to The Bird and the Bear last week. Have not forgotten. Hoping to knock that one out tomorrow. Was thinking I might wait until totally recovered before I write the post. I received some criticism on my Sambuca post for being to mad and grouchy. Were you not entertained? Well, too bad. I mean for real, it sucked. What was I supposed to say? I love bisque and a perfectly fine soup was just ruined by some incompetent ding dong back in the kitchen. OK- moving on . . . .
